Poker Terms

Buy-in: The minimum amount that player can join the game. The current amount is showed on the table sign by the poker table.

Limit: Determine the amount of the bets. The current amount is showed on the table sign by the poker table.

Pot: The collected bets in an entire game.

Bet: The first wager placed in a round. It is always made by the current limit.

Call: Placing a bet which matching the highest bet already placed.

Raise: Raising the highest bet already placed. It is always made by the current limit.

Fold: When you throw your cards away to quit the current game.

Check: To waive the right to initiate the betting in a round.

Ante: A prescribed amount posted before the start of a hand by all players. It is always made by the current limit.

Blind: A requied bet made before any cards dealt. There are two kinds, the small blind, which is placed by the first player and the big blind, which is placed by the second player. It is always made by the current limit.

Common Cards: Face up cards dealt on the middle of the table, which can be used by every players as if it would be in their hands.

Dealer Button: Marks the last player in the current round.

Bring-in: A forced bet that have to be placed in the first round.
